About Dr. Tamara Gray

Dr. Tamara Gray is a founder of Rabata, an organization dedicated to promoting positive cultural change through creative educational experiences. As executive director, faculty, and chief spirituality officer, she focuses on uplifting Muslim women within community and without. She has a special interest in digital spaces in faith communities.

Dr. Gray holds a doctorate in leadership from the University of St. Thomas, a master’s degree in Curriculum Theory and Instruction from Temple University and spent twenty years in traditional learning spaces studying Islamic sciences, Quran, and Arabic in Damascus, Syria.

Milestones and Memories: Forty Years in Islam

In 2025, Dr. Tamara Gray will celebrate her 40th Shahadah anniversary with a fundraiser to grow and accredit Ribaat University. This first-of-its-kind all-women's university will offer affordable bachelor's degrees rooted in Islamic values, preparing graduates to serve in critical leadership roles and pursue advanced studies. Degree programs will include Islamic Studies, Non-Profit Leadership, Education, Publishing and Writing, and Arabic.

This "Shahadaversary" honors Dr. Tamara’s four decades of commitment, courage, and advocacy for female scholarship. With events in 40 cities, we celebrate a legacy of faith and education while paving the way for a brighter future for women around the globe.
